From Humble Beginnings...are the Giants of our time Born...

All the recent noise about Jason Fortuny stems from his recent scientificaly valid[1], sociological study of human stupidity[2]. Despite the cries of hypocrites, cowards, and the morally under-developed-sado-masochistic-loving-adulterer's (or those who apparently love them)[3], the response has been overwhelmingly positive[4].

And while this recent firestorm of activity has brough the greatness that is Jason Fortuny into greater, and more greatly known reknown, it is not the first time he has dabbled in internet prankstering. And so without further ado, I present to you the early Jason Fortuny, in

Episode 1: Jason being a dick on the blog "Life one the Wicked Stage: Act2" [5]

The unfortunate owner of this unfortunately named blog wrote a post worrying about a security hole that may have been uncovered concerning Sprint and privacy. On July 8, 2006 he wrote:

I've often wondered about the security of all these automated phone systems that ask for user info. Now comes word that Sprint (my carrier, at the moment) has a hole in theirs. Apparently it is only in the system that verifes identity verification for international calling permissions. The hole? If you enter a cell number it will read back the customer's info asking to verify it. According to this report at BoingBoing, it doesn't report back all numbers, but hey, one is enough isn't it. Scary? Check out the some of the info that the caller got here.

Jason, who for reasons that have not yet been established, happened to read this post and using his incredible wits, innovativeness, and incredible capacity for sheer dickishness posted this reply:

Now, I've obviously replaced all the actual details with little x's, not because I think this Steve Pxxx fucker and his possible relatives deserve some privacy, I just don't want to be accused of mimicking the great one himself.

Some may wonder what relevance this information Jason posted has to the original post; some may wonder how accurate it could be to include one phone number, age and date of birth with five addresses; and then some may just be wondering what Jason was doing on that blog in the first place, and was he in his underwear at the same time?

To all you wondering such things you are morally-under-developed-sado-maschochistic-
loving-adulterer's (or like people who are) and were probably born before there was an internet. For the rest of us, it is refreshing and interesting to see the development of Jason's pranskterism from merely posting information he can find, to actively recruiting such information before posting.

It makes me giddy to think of what he will do next...
